Polygraph Examinations
Polygraph is a sophisticated investigative tool used to measure spontaneous nervous reactions. When expertly applied, it is unrivalled for detecting the veracity of statements and is frequently used where traditional methods to identify suspects have failed.
It is claimed that a polygraph instrument - usually referred to as a lie-detector - can achieve accuracy rates of up to 95%, with only a tiny segment of the population being able to tell a lie ‘honestly’ and slip through the testing net.
Used for many years in the United States, the reliability of what is essentially a piece of medical equipment that measures the body's response to stress, is well documented. Scoring is so accurate that inconclusive tests are very rare indeed.
As a result, it is now increasingly used for screening potential employees in sensitive work situations.
Accredited examiners
GSS is among only a small number of commercial practitioners accredited to provide polygraph testing in Europe.
Our examiners are all Members of the American Association of Polygraph Examiners, the world's leading authority.
Consequently, we are often required to travel with our polygraph equipment and have successfully conducted tests in hostile conditions. And frequently we are called on to present our findings as expert witnesses in Court.
The polygraph fact file provides more information on this investigative tool. Alternatively, an initial demonstration of a polygraph test implies no commitment to proceed and our discretion is assured.
