Crisis Management Checklist

If you are unsure as to whether your organisation is fully prepared for the unexpected, ask yourselves the following questions. Even if they don't apply directly to your business, they may trigger security issues that will lead to making your business activities more secure.

  • How much time was spent discussing security issues over the past 12 months?
  • When was the last time our security and evacuation procedures were updated?
  • Do current plans reflect recent organisational, legislative and technology changes?

  • Do we screen employees and consultants working on sensitive projects?
  • Have we recently tested security access to our premises?
  • How secure is our data, and do our records comply with the 1998 Data Protection Act?

  • Might a scan of our telecommunications activity help to reduce abuse and costs?
  • With surveys suggesting rising rates of internal fraud, are accounts regularly scanned for anomalies?
  • How often do we discuss security issues with our employees?

  • Do increases in security threats match current staffing levels?
  • Are detailed specifications routinely written prior to tendering security services?
  • Can we be sure that our monthly security invoices match the services received?

  • Do security issues always seem to get pushed aside because they are too hard to deal with?
  • Are we leaving too much to good fortune and chance?
  • What would happen if we ran into a crisis within the next five minutes?

If you feel that a 360-degree security audit would be useful, an initial consultation implies no commitment to proceed and our discretion is assured.
