Saving Lives & Spiriting Staff to Safety
There are occasions when we're called on to save lives.
Like the general manager of a hotel in a developing country where the rule of law had all but broken down.
So when the owner of a neighbouring hotel was found with his throat cut and a note singling out the manager of a leading hotel chain as next in line, our client called for help. GSS's brief was to quietly close the hotel and make sure all foreign employees were safely evacuated to their home bases before the threat became a reality.
Clearly, time was not on our side, and with the hotel in question under surveillance this would be no easy task. The evacuation required a careful strategy as well as the cooperation of trusted hotel staff.
Adopting the guise of air-conditioning decontamination experts, our team was able to set up a mini crisis centre within the hotel, hire the necessary uniforms and equipment, work with hotel employees and eventually spirit non-nationals to a waiting aeroplane in our hired ‘repair’ van.
Local tensions precluded the management's return. However, our client's primary objectives were met in that no lives were lost and nobody came to any harm.
